We began with the following lead-in:
On the last day of school in sixth grade (May of 1981), Mr. Ken Schubert, in band class, gave us a little bit of wisdom: "When you walk across the stage at graduation, that's when you'll find out what your real names are." *
Going through the class, Mr. Schubert pointed out that several students went by their middle names instead of their given first names, and that at Graduation is when their fellow classmates (and sometimes themselves) learn the truth about themselves.
Six years later, there weren't that many surprises when Dr. Bonar read every student's name as they walked across that stage in Brock Auditorium, although I was rather disappointed that "Sarah Sophia Augusta Patterson Warner" was not called out. Interestingly enough, out of a class of 59, only one student went through school going by their middle name instead of their first name.
Then we asked:
THE QUESTION: Who was the one student in the Class of 1987 that was commonly refered to by their MIDDLE NAME rather than their given first name?
