Hidden Contest #2 was launched on April 7, 2007. Hidden somewhere on this website is a "Hidden Contest" ... when you find it, it will say that it is the Hidden Contest, and you will be asked to send in an answer to a very simple question. Send your response to mhs87@jlk512.com with the subject header of "Hidden Contest #2" with the answer, along with your name and email address. The first person to send in a correct entry will win the following fabulous prize: The Jay Roberts Mousepad! Watch as your internet surfing becomes all the more productive and infuriating with the visage of Mr. Roberts glaring up at you from underneath your mouse! This fine product measures approximately 8 inches by 10 inches. Why this particular prize? No apparent reason. "But," you may be asking, "where do I look for the hidden contest?" Well, it's hidden ... it's your task to find it! "How about giving us a clue?" you might also ask. There actually is a clue to the contest's location right on this page. More specifically? Look for certain words or phrases that are the same as on this page as they are on another page, and this will tell you where to look. That's all we can say right now. One entry per person per email address. Contest will run until someone wins, or May 31, 2007, whichever comes first. Winner will be notified via email and agrees to supply a mailing address for their prize, as well as the use of their name in the reporting of the results of this contest. Offer void where prohibited by law. | ![]() Click on the above image for a larger view |
The clue that we gave on the page had to do with "certain words and phrases" ... if you happened to look at our main page while this contest was running (it has since changed) and looked at the "Recent Additions and Updates" section, you might have noticed the following:
Note that, on the same day that we launched Hidden Contest #2, we also launched the About Us page, for "no apparent reason" -- the exact same phrase was used in the description of the prize for this contest. This was intended to indicate that the About Us page was where the contest was hidden.
So if you go to "About Us" page ...
... and you will read our description of ourselves and what we are doing, and you might notice that the words and phrases are spaced and formatted rather oddly, don't you think? Almost as if their placement is a little intentional, perhaps?
In fact, they are. And if you were to take the first letter of each line and arrange them in order, you would read the following message:
this is the hidden contest send us the name of the person in the bottom photo on the left
And the correct answer would be "Sarah Warner".
Unfortunately, no one found the contest by the May 31, 2007 deadline, so we get to keep our Jay Roberts mousepad for ourselves as we bring this particular contest to a close.
