| Technical note: Ellen Forderhase was absent on picture day, so we have had to use her photo from the Sixth Grade Band group shot. | Sixth grade, the first part of middle school ... we didn't have an organized recess, but we had a full lunch period, and we weren't restricted to the playground ... we got to eat lunch in the Grill ... to get to some of our classes we had to pass through the high school wing ... we had our own lockers and a new side of the school, so we no longer had to be dropped off on the nursery school side or the T.V. circle ... we'd heard scary stories about Mrs. Graham or how crazy Mrs. Hoffman was, but we never realized how true they were ... there were more clubs and sports and after-school activities to participate in ...
"As sixth grade arrived, the middle school experience was amazing and very frightening. The eighth graders pushed, shoved, took advantage of, each of us if the opportunity was available. But the reality of being there -- the place where, according to Miss Lane, 'things are different ... they won't put up with this up there' (meaning our discipline problems as elementary students) was important." - Amy Maupin, The Observer, May 22, 1987 | ||
| Honorary Classmates: Those who started with us and then eventually continued their eduation elsewhere, yet still left an indelible mark on our memories as we still remember them as our classmates. ![]() Billy Adams ![]() Andy Campbell ![]() Laura Dohmen ![]() Tony Foley ![]() Lori-Lyn Hurley ![]() Charla Jackson ![]() Todd Jones ![]() Martin Leiter ![]() Brian Miller ![]() Reggie Miller ![]() Roger Nayle ![]() Jon Wisenbaker | |||||||||||||||
